The Philadelphia Inquirer asked a number of Philadelphia-area colleges and universities how they handled recent cases involving allegations of Title IX sexual misconduct and sexual assault. Some schools were more forthcoming than others; some declined to respond altogether. The period of time covered is from 2009 - 2014, and the results follow:
- Bryn Mawr College: Two cases; no expulsions
- University of Delaware: 34 cases; five expulsions and numerous suspensions
- Immaculata University: 8 cases; no expulsions
- Rosemont College: Zero cases
- Rowan University: 12 cases since 2010; seven for sexual assault and five for fondling; five expulsions and other sanctions included one-year and two-year suspensions
- Rutgers University: 12 cases; three expulsions
- Swarthmore College: 4 expulsions in 2013
- University of Pennsylvania: 11 cases during the 2013-2014 school year and 35 the previous five years; the University of Pennsylvania declined to provide information regarding how the cases were resolved
- Princeton University: Four cases during the 2013-2014 school year in which accused students were found guilty of sexual misconduct ranging from rape to harassment to stalking; one expulsion; two suspensions; one student placed on disciplinary probation
- West Chester University of Pennsylvania: 19 cases; two expulsions; eight suspensions; nine students placed on disciplinary probation
- Other Schools: Drexel University, Haverford College, LaSalle University, St. Joseph's University, Temple University, Penn State, Philadelphia University, Villanova University, and Widener University declined to respond.
