When you're first notified by the school, if you're a student at a college or university in Arkansas, that you're the subject of a Title IX investigation, a person can sometimes have the mistaken mindset to go to the interview, just explain what happened and everything will be all right. Unfortunately, schools often suggest that would be the case, but so much is at stake in Title IX cases that the necessary precautions have to be taken as early as possible in the process. Do not speak to the school. Speak to your parents. Do not speak to your friends. Make sure that you have an experienced attorney advisor in your corner from as early as possible in the process. Too much is at stake to leave anything to chance and to not take the necessary precautions as soon as a person is notified.
