If you're a student at a college or university in New Mexico and you find yourself the subject of a Title IX investigation, mistakes cannot be allowed to happen. Do not make the mistake of speaking with the school without taking the necessary precautions. Too much is at stake, too much is involved in a Title IX case, for those mistakes to be allowed. Schools are often in a rush to judgment. They often do not provide the requisite notice to an accused party. They also do not let an accused party know what's at stake in a Title IX case. Do not speak with the school. Do not speak with friends. Let your parents know what's going on. Take the necessary precautions, including having an attorney advisor help you from as early as possible in the process.
