If you're notified that you're subject to a Title IX investigation or charged with a Title IX violation at a college or university in California, schools will often be in a rush to judgment, a rush to invite a interview with the student or the accused party to say, "Explain what happened and it'll be an educational opportunity." A student could have the mistaken mindset to believe that. Unfortunately, that is a major mistake. The most important consideration is to take the necessary precautions. Tell your parents, make sure that the precautions are taken before you meet with the school. Too much is at stake in a Title IX case in terms of what needs to be done, especially at those early critical stages in the process. Make sure that you have an experienced attorney advisor in your corner from as early as possible in the process.
