It's important to distinguish between how your case will be adjudicated. For Title IX cases, it'll be a potential gray area. For non-Title IX cases, for cases of sexual misconduct, sexual assault, that would be adjudicated by your college or university. Schools will be allowed to pursue cases that take place off-campus. Because of these considerations and concerns and because many alleged acts do take place off-campus, say, not in a fraternity or sorority house, well beyond campus potentially, say, in an off-campus apartment for example or anywhere else for that matter, it's very important that you have somebody looking out for your interest from as early as possible in the process. An experienced attorney advisor can help you navigate the school's adjudication process for college sexual misconduct cases.
