A student will be subject to the school’s disciplinary process, and what that would entail will depend on the particular college or university involved. Revenge porn is a serious matter, a sharing or dissemination of any kind of sexually explicit videos or images, pictures that is. Whether it’s of a former intimate partner, a girlfriend, a boyfriend, whatever the case may be, often it’s a crime unto itself in addition to being a violation of Title IX sexual misconduct and/or the school’s conduct code itself.

It is a serious matter if a student is found responsible for revenge porn, or disseminating or sharing explicit images or nude images of another person, another student, say. And if they’re found responsible, at a minimum they’re going to be most likely facing a suspension, if not an expulsion. An experienced attorney and advisor needs to be involved in the process from the start.
