If a school has determined that you're responsible for an allegation of sexual misconduct under this policy, the school would have certain say steps forward at that point. A student who's found responsible would in most instance have a right to an appeal. The finding could be based on, say, a procedural error or defect or new evidence that wasn't available, say, during the course of the investigation where the hearing or disproportionate sanctions by getting to that point, like at a given point in the process, sanctions would be imposed.
Once the student's found responsible a person depending on the school in question may be able to initially appeal the finding. If sanctions are imposed at the time of the finding, they may be able to appeal both the funding and the sanctions. Either way, it will depend on the given school in question. They will have their own specific policies as to what would take place at that time. Because so much is involved and so much is at stake, you need to have an experienced attorney advisor helping you navigate the process and protecting your interest at any point in the process, but especially if you've been found responsible.
