To best understand how to appeal a Title IX case in Michigan, it's good to have a brief understanding of what Title IX is. Title IX is a federal civil rights law that's intended in part to prevent and address campus sexual misconduct. Campus sexual misconduct can encompass various forms, be it sexual violence, sexual harassment. It can apply to both students and faculty members, professors, for example, athletic staff, whatever the case may be. If a party is going to appeal a Title IX finding and-or sanction at a college or university in Michigan, the school's specific grounds for the appeal would have to be met, be it procedural error or defect, disproportionate sanction, new evidence.
