If you find yourself the subject of a Title IX investigation and you're a student at a college or University of Mississippi, it is critical not to make mistakes at any point in the process, but especially early in the process. The Title IX process, it can be unfair. It's critical to take the necessary precautions so that what can be an unfair process is made as fair as possible.
Do not make this mistake of meeting with the school or speaking with the school in advance of taking these necessary precautions. Do not speak with friends or others. Let your parents know what's going on. Schools are often in a rush to judgment, they're often in a rush to suggest a meeting or interview with an accused without letting the accused know what's at stake in a Title IX case or even providing the requisite notice. Take the necessary precautions, including having an attorney advisor in your corner from the start of the process, so that the process can be as fair as possible.
