Federal gender-equity law Title IX prohibits gender-based discrimination in education programs or activities that receive federal funding. This legislation has been implemented and enforced in most of the schools in Georgia, extending to the majority of the state's colleges and universities. Title IX forbids sexual harassment, sexual assault, or any other discriminatory acts that create a hostile environment for students belonging to the campus community.

- New evidence available: evidence that supports the case of a respondent, and would have had a substantial impact on a case outcome became available after a hearing.
