An experienced lawyer who's familiar with the university disciplinary process will take certain steps well in advance of a university disciplinary hearing. That may include potential negotiations with the school's Title IX office, the school's office of general counsel or the school's attorney that is, campus police, local law enforcement even. Evidence would need to be obtained and prepared during the course of the investigation to present the strongest case possible. Prior to the hearing itself, an investigation report will be prepared and finalized. Before it's finalized, the report has to be as strong as possible because it will go to the panel before the decision is even made or the person who's making the determination regarding responsibility will have a strong sense of the case before the hearing even takes place. There's so many steps that need to take place. A student's interests are going to be best protected and represented when an experienced attorney advisor is involved from the start of the process.
