In almost all instances, Title IX would apply to university faculty for alleged acts that occur off campus. Schools hold university faculty to a high standard, a higher standard arguably than even students. Off campus conduct if a party is found responsible, if it say would impact on the university in any capacity, and that's a expansive lens in which the university views such a consideration, the university will take action. Unfortunately, in many instances, if university faculty is found responsible for a Title IX violation, although it may not incur the same potential sanction for a student who's held to a high standard, although say arguably less than that of a university faculty member, university faculty member will in many instances face the prospect of termination unfortunately. There are going to be some exceptions to that, but an experienced attorney advisor can help an accused university faculty through the process and can help protect his or her rights.
