If I was notified that I am being charged for violating my university's sexual misconduct policy, should I speak with law enforcement?

Absolutely not. If you're contacted by anyone and you're being accused of sexual misconduct or investigated for sexual misconduct at your college or university, you should not speak to law enforcement be it the campus police, local law enforcement, or whoever may be involved. You should not speak to anybody, the school. You should not speak to friends, classmates, you shouldn't speak to your parents. That should be step one.

Step two should be getting an experienced attorney-advisor in your corner to make sure that your interests are protected and so that the best-informed decisions can be made moving forward, too much is at stake to do otherwise.
