How should I respond if I am accused of sexual assault under my university's sexual misconduct policy?

If you're accused of sexual misconduct under your college or university's sexual misconduct policy, you should not speak to the school or anybody else without taking the proper precautions. Whether it's the school's conduct office, the campus police, local police, friends, anybody else, you shouldn't speak to anybody without taking the proper precautions. You should let your parents know what's going on. You should not try and go this alone. It's incredibly misguided to try to do so.

You need to have an experienced attorney advisor helping you navigate the process and protecting your interests from the start of the process because everything is at stake, regrettably. You cannot depend on the school to be looking out for your interests. How should you respond? Ultimately you shouldn't respond at all until you have somebody in your corner that can appropriately do so.
