CUNY Medical School Cheating Allegations
According to the CBS News report, CUNY’s program has accused seventeen students of cheating on exams early in 2025. The allegations involved logging out of exams, leaving the exam room, and logging back in from another device to submit the completed exam. Students have denied the cheating allegations. They have responded by saying that CUNY has withheld or destroyed exonerating video evidence while refusing to provide them with the hearing that due process requires. According to the report, CUNY finally relented and began scheduling hearings within minutes of receiving notice of CBS’s plan to air its report.
Serious Misconduct Allegations and Sanctions
Don’t mistake just how serious cheating or other misconduct allegations can be. CUNY, like other medical schools and university programs, may suspend students and dismiss them from their program over cheating or similar allegations. The CUNY students accused of cheating had already invested years and many thousands of dollars in their medical education. Those investments are all now at risk of loss because of the school’s allegations. Get kicked out of your program, and you may not be able to qualify for other programs. Cheating or other allegations could mean the end not only of your education but also your career. But we can help.
Due Process to the Rescue
The LLF National Law Firm’s appearance to defend CUNY students against school cheating allegations ensures that those students will have due process. Due process means fair notice of the details of the allegations and a fair hearing before an impartial decision maker. If CUNY has lost or destroyed exonerating evidence, that hearing should presume that the evidence would have exonerated the accused students. The students may also be able to show by their own testimony and our forensic investigation of the involved devices and applications that they did nothing wrong. Our premier attorneys may also be able to negotiate alternative remedial relief, saving the investment, education, and careers of earnest, hard-working, and skilled students.
