Instead, a Student Life officer looked into your case, rendered a decision, and assigned a sanction.

The first step in the appeals process is equally informal. Essentially, the Student Handbook suggests you speak with your Student Life officer. In doing so, you are invited to present evidence of your innocence or to mitigate the circumstances of your situation.

If this initial appeal fails, you can further appeal to the next administrative level at the university.
