With many AI-powered resources, including the most well-known—ChatGPT—there are several ways that users might deploy the technology. Yet, they might have ChatGPT write their term paper, but they also might use it to simply brainstorm essay topics, better understand algebra, or settle a debate with their roommate.

With Apex Vision AI, there is a singular purpose that the platform’s marketers make no bones about. Their promise is “ accurate AI homework answers on any site—stay on the page, save time, boost grades.”

The promise to help students “boost grades” is particularly bold, as it is a thinly veiled insinuation that Apex Vision AI will give those students the answers necessary for strong test scores.

While the platform’s site refers to “studying,” it also suggests that:

  • Students can download the resource as a browser extension
  • As students take online quizzes or exams, Apex Vision AI will provide them with the answers (seemingly instantaneously) as they go
  • The platform can handle more than multiple-choice questions, as it may also assist with “essay writing, math help, or more”
  • Students can even take screenshots of problems (like a geometric shape without angle values) and prompt Apex Vision AI to solve the problem based on the image

If the tool didn’t pose such an obvious potential to land students in disciplinary difficulty, we’d be inclined to give the marketers of this product. The extent to which they said “to heck with false appearances” and marketed wholeheartedly to students who would use AI to, essentially, do their work for them, is almost impressive.

This blatant appeal to students, and the primary use case of giving students answers to test and homework questions, is also the reason why you will almost certainly face a disciplinary inquiry—at the very least—if you are accused of using Apex Vision AI.
